Bill Plympton and Alexia Anastasio got officially accepted and presented our film, “Adventures in Plymptoons!” for its World Premiere at the prestigious Annecy International Animation Film Festival. This is a very very big deal in the animation community and we are getting festival and screening requests around the world because of it. We could not have done this without you, but it is not over yet. It seems like it is just the beginning all over again as the world tour has kicked off and we head to San Diego Comic Con.

While at Comic-Con, Bill will host a panel on Thursday, July 21, at 2 pm in room 25ABC. Bill will talk about his career as an independent animator. Also, Bill will screen some recent shorts and a sneak peek at “The Flying House”. Everyone who attends will get a free Plympton sketch!


Also in San Diego, Bill  and Alexia will make an appearance at the Hustler Store, on 929 6th Avenue, on Friday, July 22, 8-10 pm. On Saturday, July 23, 8 pm, in the shadow of San Diego Comic-Con there will be a special sneak preview screening of “Adventures in Plymptoons!” the Reading Cinema Gaslamp 15, 701 Fifth Ave. Toon Boom Presents “An Evening with Bill Plympton”, where Bill will screen his shorts and a sneak preview of upcoming releases and also there will be many surprises. Bill Plympton (Two-time Oscar-nominated animator, author of Independently Animated), 11-year-old animator and child film critic Perry Chen with his mother Dr. Zhu Shen, Karina Bessoudo (Toon Boom, Vice President of Marketing and Communications) and Kevin Sean Michaels (Director, Ingrid Pitt: Beyond The Forest) will share insight and a sneak preview of the film Ingrid Pitt: Beyond The Forest and the cross-generational collaboration that was formed to create it. The short animated film illustrates the miraculous true story of the late Ingrid Pitt (The Wicker Man, Where Eagles Dare) who, in 1945, escaped at age 8 from a concentration camp in Poland to later become one of the UK’s biggest movie stars. Also screening will be a trailer for the new documentary on animator Plympton, Adventures in Plymptoons! Moderators: Pat Swinney Kaufman (Executive Director for the New York State Governor’s Office for Motion Picture & Television Development) and Lloyd Kaufman (President/Co-Founder of Troma Entertainment, author of Sell Your Own Damn Movie).
