Comic-Con sneak preview of new ‘Journey to the Exoplanets’ app

You can get a sneak peak of Journey to the Exoplanets-an interactive iPad app from the brand new Scientific American imprint of Farrar, Straus and Giroux-at Comic-Con this week. If you’d like to see a demo of the app (which has an anticipated release date of August 12) or learn more about it, please feel free to drop by booth 1220 and visit with Thomas LeBien, Publisher of the Scientific American imprint and Hill and Wang.

Journey to the Exoplanets, which features more than sixty gorgeous images of fifty alien landscapes by the Hugo Award-winning illustrator Ron Miller, is a groundbreaking hands-on introduction to the mysterious planets that have been discovered outside our Solar System. The app provides the inside scoop on exoplanets from experts such as Caleb Scharf, Lawrence Krauss, and Scientific American’s own editors, and allows you to get news updates, build your own planet, check out astronomy experiments, interviews, and more. Until we figure out teleportation and hyperdrive, Journey to the Exoplanets is the next best thing to being there, and should appeal to backyard astronomers, sci-fi fans, and science buffs of all kinds.

As I mentioned, you can visit booth 1220 at Comic-Con for a demo of the app. You can also check out the website, follow @TheExoplanets on Twitter,
